Primary Responsibilities: * Respond to Provider / Enrollee denial inquiries * Assist with appointment scheduling for a discussion with our Medical Directors and a provider physician * Verify member information via application system * Advise callers of case status (reason for denial and next steps) * Resolve customer service inquiries * Provide excellent customer service to both providers and enrollees * Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence and quality standards while maintaining good attendance You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma / GED (or higher) * 2+ years of Customer Service experience * 2+ years of professional experience in an office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform the job duties * Previous experience working with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, edit, save, and send emails), Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save, and send spreadsheets) * Comfortable working Monday - Friday, an 8-hour shift between operating hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm CST Preferred Qualifications: * Healthcare or Insurance benefits experience * Professional experience in clerical or administrator work * Knowledge or experience with Medical Terminology / Coding (ICD - 10 and CPT) * Hospital, Physician, or Medical Clinical experience * Knowledge or experience with Medicare and / or Medicaid * Experience with Clinical databases / systems * Experience working in a call center Careers with Optum.
