everything possible.The Senior Scientist is responsible for working
with both internal and external collaborators to evaluate, develop,
and mature new technologies that can be used to advance the field
of analytical chemistry and separation science. Support new and
existing products by performing application and troubleshooting
work and providing appropriate documentation and literature
including research reports, technical notes, publications, posters
and seminars.This position reports to the Director of Research and
is part of the Research and Development team located in Torrance,
CA and will be an on-site role. -In this role, you will have the
opportunity to:
- Develop HPLC, UHPLC, and LC/MS methods to evaluate new
technologies in the field of separation science
- Develop and evaluate new sample preparation formats and
technologies
- Develop new separation and characterization strategies for both
small and large molecule pharmaceuticals
- Evaluate new separation science technologies for use in low
level LC/MS methods used in clinical diagnostic applications
- Work closely with research and engineering teams to identify
and characterize new analytical chemistry technologiesThe essential
requirements of the job include:
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or
related field with 2+ years of experience (industrial experience
preferred), MS with 3+ years of industrial experience, or BS with
5+ years of industrial experience.
- Proven history of independently designing and implementing new
LC-MS methods for the analysis of target analytes in complex
matrices, including selecting appropriate columns, mobile phases,
ionization techniques, and mass spectrometry parameters.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, identifying potential
issues and taking corrective actions.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to instrument
performance, method performance, and data quality.
- Hands on experience developing and implementing appropriate
sample preparation techniques to facilitate LC/MS analysisTravel,
Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel 15% both domestically and
internationally
- Ability to routinely lift and move 10-15 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 1-2 hours daily
- Ability to safely and accurately handle different volumes of
chemicals, solvents, and hazardous waste.
- Conditions may require wearing personal protective equipment
such as air-purifying respirators as well as safety goggles,
gloves, and other personal protective equipment. Substantial
movements (motions) of wrists, hands, and / or fingers. Extending
hand (s) and arm (s) in any directionIt would be a plus if you also
possess previous experience in:
- Performing and troubleshooting low level detection in LC/MS
clinical diagnostic applications
- Experience using multiple LC techniques such as size exclusion,
ion chromatography, reverse phase chromatography and HILIC
- Learning agility and demonstrated ability to apply technical
knowledge to improve the understanding of chemical analysis systems

is $98,000 - $147,000. This is the range that we in good faith
believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the
time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.This
job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.We offer comprehensive
