Job Description:
In this role, you have the opportunity to Design and develop
Digital Signal Processing solutions in firmware (VHDL) for
Electronic Warfare systems. You will be leading projects and using
your skills through the entire development lifecycle. You are
responsible for * Designing and implementing Digital Signal
Processing solutions to meet system requirements. * Working on
problems of considerable scope where analysis of situations or data
requires a review of a variety of factors. * Conferring with
engineering staff and project managers to obtain information for
assigned projects. * Preparing reports and correspondence
concerning project specifications, activities and status. *
Modifying existing firmware to correct errors, to adapt it to new
hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance *
Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate the interfaces
between hardware, firmware, and software, developing specifications
and performance requirements and resolving customer problems *
Working on problems of considerable scope where analysis of
situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors *
Updating knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in
digital technology * Being an expert with VHDL and have experience
with Verilog and System Verilog * Mentoring junior engineers on the
Firmware Team * Leading in the design of Firmware solutions and
acting as a lead on projects * Supporting the development of
engineering proposals/bids, which consist of technical white
papers/descriptions, and estimates of cost and schedule You are a
part of A team of engineers including firmware, software, systems,
hardware and test engineers developing and integrating capability
for Electronic Warfare systems. To succeed in this role, you should
have the following skills and experience * Bachelor's
Degree(Master's preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Physics or Mathematics. * 8+ years related work
experience in Engineering. * Experience with MatLab and Simulink *
Experience implementing digital signal processing algorithms and
functions such as, * Experience implementing high-speed parallel
DSP(High-Speed ADC and DAC experience) * Expert with VHDL *
Experience with Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus Prime * Test Bench
simulation experience * Good interpersonal skills and ability to
work with engineers from other disciplines * Excellent
communication skills both oral and written * Ability to analyze and
solve problems with innovative, creative solutions * A positive
can-do attitude * The following experience is a plus: * Digital RF
Memory (DRFM) experience or experience with radar waveforms *
Experience with Verilog and System Verilog * Verification
experience * Able to manage large Virtex or Stratix projects *
Experience leading development projects through the entire
development lifecycle * Expert with Mentor Graphics QuestaSim (or
ModelSim) * DMA engines * Experience with Git or some form of
configuration management tool or process * Xilinx or Intel embedded
processor experience a plus * Machine Learning or Artificial
Intelligence experience a plus * Ethernet 10/100 and 1GB experience
* PCIe end point and root complex experience Purpose: This position
is for a recognized subject matter expert in the Firmware
