Wooster Motor Ways is hiring a dependable, safety-first Company Driver to haul freight across our regional lanes. We offer steady miles, a team that looks out for you, and a clear pay structure that rewards safe, experienced drivers. PAY COMPENSATION Mileage Pay (based on verifiable experience) - Starting rate (0-2 years) — $0.54 per mile - Experienced rate (2 years) — $0.56 per mile - Quarterly safety bonus — $0.04 per mile - Total with safety bonus — Up to $0.60 per mile Mileage is calculated on practical Zip-to-Zip miles (not hub miles). Pay increases take effect the week following your hire date anniversary. Dry Van – Regional OTR - Freight Type: Dry freight only - Routes: Regional and OTR, traveling 400–500 miles from Wooster, OH - Restrictions: No East Coast lanes, no long-haul lines, no touch freight - Compensation: $1,350 minimum potential per week, with opportunity to earn more - Benefits: - Paid orientation - Weekly home time - $1,000 transitional bonus paid over first 2 weeks Propane/Butane – Company Driver Pay Scale - 30% of Line Haul Revenue Pneumatic Drivers – Local, Regional OTR - Freight Type: Powdered cement - Local Routes: Home daily | Average pay $1,300–$1,600 per week - Regional Routes: Home every weekend | Average pay $1,500–$2,200 per week - OTR Routes: Home every weekend | Competitive pay - Benefits: Daily or weekend home time depending on route, stable freight, and professional work environment - Starting Compensation: 25% of Line Haul - 90 day Increase to: 28% of Line Haul Additional Pay for all Driver Types - Additional stop pay - Short haul loads - Detention - Driver unload / assist unload - HazMat loads - Holiday pay - Trailer spotting / extra drop hook - Breakdown pay Other Benefits: - Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage - 401(k) retirement plan - Paid vacation: - 1 week after 6 months of employment - 1 additional week after 12 months - 3 weeks after 7 years - 4 weeks after 15 years - 8 paid holidays per year - WMW covers the full cost of your initial HazMat certification - All hourly work paid as straight time - Weight ticket reimbursements at face value Equipment: Our International LT trucks come fully equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, TV, premium driver's seat, and an auxiliary power unit (APU) for your comfort on the road. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo. - Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects, accidents, or violations promptly. - Load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight. - Maintain accurate HOS logs and all required DOT/FMCSA documentation. - Verify bills of lading, collect signatures/receipts, and ensure all paperwork is complete and correct. - Plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows. - Perform basic vehicle maintenance (fluids, minor repairs); keep trailer clean and ready. REQUIREMENTS - Valid Class A CDL — required. - HazMat endorsement preferred not required. - High School Diploma or GED. - TWIC card preferred not required. - Must pass and maintain all DOT/FMCSA physical requirements.
