Description Th e Intern, AI Engineer (LIMS Process Optimization)
focuses on simplifying a complex LIMS master data entry process by
l ev eraging AI . The intern will work directly with the IT and
LIMS team to analyze the current workflow and design an AI-enabled
solution , such as an agent or intelligent tool , to streamline
master data compilation and improve efficiency and accuracy. We're
thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in
Tustin, CA . As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture,
take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's
dynamics. This temporary , 40-hour per week office position is
designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to
connect with professionals in the industry. Key Responsibilities:
Embed with the LIMS and IT team to understand the end-to-end master
data entry and maintenance process. Analyze current-state workflows
and identify opportunities for AI-driven automation or assistance .
Design and prototype an AI-based solution to support or automate
master data compilation. Collaborate with technical and business
stakeholders to iterate on solution design. Document the simplified
future-state process and present findings to stakeholders . Primary
Project Focus: LIMS master data process mapping and complexity
analysis Identification of AI use cases such as data extraction,
validation, and guided entry Design of an AI-enabled workflow or
agent Delivery of a proposed future-state process and
proof-of-concept Preferred Qualifications: Ability to learn AI
tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, etc. Strong attention to detail and
organizational skills to meet deadlines Interest in AI, process
optimization, analytics and data science Ability to handle
confidential information appropriately Availability to work
full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA
facility. Authorization to work in the country where the internship
is located . Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This role is a
temporary position operating Monday through Friday, 5x8 (5 days x 8
hours) schedule. Starting Monday, June 15 th through Friday, August
21 st . What to Expect as an Avid Bio Intern: Summer Project:
Personalized project plan, complete with a pre-determined roadmap
and week by week milestones that the intern will need to meet,
ensuring clear expectations and measurable outcomes. Mentorship:
Your manager and team will provide training, mentorship, and
development opportunities. Weekly Check-ins and 1:1s: Conduct both
on a weekly basis to ensure clear communication and support for our
interns. Performance Assessments: Conduct mid and end of program
performance assessments to be provided with constructive criticism
and feedback to help you grow and succeed. State of the Art

Program Presentation Compensation: The compensation for this role

dynamic role, expect a blend of regular activities like sitting,
