In the Senior Role as Java / Spring Developer, this person will be
defining the technical solutions for various Document Management
Applications and will be the interface between the End Users and
the Development teams with respect to defining the solution and
creating the overall systems architecture in response to various
business needs. This person will also define the technical
specifications for underlying technologies (i.e., computing
platforms, systems architecture, systems software and other utility
tools), work with vendors and provide the required information to
the stakeholders. This individual will also provide the leadership
and technical guidance for the integrated set of applications from
different groups to make them work together.

Primary Responsibilities:
Implementing and maintaining different existing document management
applications as these applications are expanded to accommodate the
business needs
Developing roadmaps that implement components of the existing
application architecture
Assisting project teams with new component implementation
Identifying gaps in existing implementation and resolving issues as
required
Conducting proofofconcept exercises for addon functionalities to
the existing systems
Providing consulting services to individual projects regarding
application architecture and development
Continuously improving the existing Document Management
Applications and Processes using cloud architecture
Create detailed designs and interaction designs as needed
Conduct user research as needed
Collaborate closely with architects and developers
Sets priorities and ensure task completion on multiple concurrent
projects
Coordinate work activities with others
Develop plans and manage projects to meet shortterm objectives
Maintaining an understanding of the healthcare industry and
adapting to trends/needs within the industry
Working across other application groups within UnitedHealth Group
to integrate with different crossapplications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
with relevant experience
5+ years of experience in Java and Spring Framework
5+ years of IT experience in Large Scale Information Systems
development and deployment
5+ years of experience in the lead role
5+ years of experience working in user experience, usability and/or
user assistance
5+ years of experience working closely with developers implementing
the functionalities based on highlevel design
5+ years of experience creating detailed design documents based on
the highlevel design document
Experience in REST APIs, Microservices, Spring Boot, Spring Batch,
Spring Integration, and Reactive framework
Experience with Ntier architecture consisting of Client tier,
Application tier, Database tier, File Server tier, etc.
Full COVID19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree
Experience in web development using Angular/AngularJS/React,
BootStrap, JavaScript/TypeScript, RxJS etc.
Experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker, ElasticSearch, Kafka,
AWS S3, Cloud Architecture
Experience with application lifecycle management and related
tools
Experience with Source, Build, Deployment (Configuration / Code
Management) using GitHub. CICD process using Jenkins
Knowledge of healthcare industry
Proven ability to collaborate with both technology and business
professionals
Ability to look across systems and identify common patterns and
relationships
Proven facilitation and negotiation skills
Selfstarting and selfdirected attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, evidenced by the
ability to communicate complex technical subjects to nontechnical
audiences in writing and verbally

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range
for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for
Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based
on several factors including but not limited to education, work
experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary,
