DescriptionTo direct a community program that provides residents
with a stimulating and varied calendar of events and activities
that address as wide a range of resident needs as possible, while
being a role model and leader in the area of resident socialization
to the entire Life Engagement Department, as well as the rest of

Requirements:Bachelors or Associates degree in related field such
as fine arts, social science, recreational therapy, or gerontology
preferred.Professional certification as a catering/event planner
such as CSEP, CIC, MPI, or CPCE preferred2 years experience working
in senior living environment, and/or social activity
leadership.Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a
related setting preferred.Ability to establish effective
relationships with residents, families, and team members.CNA,
equivalent, or previous experience working with the elderly in a
residential or long-term care setting preferred.Must meet all
health-related requirements pertaining to state licensure.Must
maintain current CPR/First Aid credentialsMust maintain current
Food Handlers credentialsMust maintain annual Continuing Education
credits2 year of professional driving experience in the operation
of a bus or van used for transporting clients preferred.Valid state
drivers license with a safe driving recordAbility to obtain a
Commercial Drivers License within specified timeframe after
hire.Must have basic proficiency in computer skills, including Word
and Excel.Strong organizational skills and ability to re-prioritize

check.Essential Functions:ManagementProvides direct supervision for
community Life Engagement team members, including hiring, training,
evaluation, and discipline.Serves as member of community management
team and assists Executive Director with other management duties as
needed.Ensures that department or project goals or milestones are
met adhering to approved department or project budgets.Capable of
resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring
coordination with other departments.Provides training to all team
members on activity/social-related topics and assists in
maintaining team members training records.MarketingAssists with
marketing duties as requested and provides back-up support for
internal marketing such as tours, answering phone, etc. at the
direction of the Executive Director.Responsible for creation and
timely distribution of monthly community newsletter and
calendarServes as Public Relations Liaison between the community
and churches, senior centers, and other similar community
organizations.Assists in planning events which encourage the
participation of families and prospective residents.Resident
Activities/Life EngagementPlans, coordinates, and participates in a
variety of social events, outings, and on-site activities, to
address resident social, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs,
and to ensure a positive and stimulating living
environment.Identifies, visits, and selects appropriate off-site
event venues.Negotiates vendor and venue pricing and contracts for
both on-site and off-site events.Books local, regional, and
national entertainers for on-site and/or off-site eventsCoordinates
logistics including transportation, hotel accommodations, food and
beverage service, and community staffing for all day and over-night
community travel and trips.Develops/manages event and travel
budgets including resident ticket and transportation costs.Handles
event billing, payment of invoices, and financial closure.Acts as a
role model to community team members for communication and behavior
management strategies, and in engaging residents in meaningful
activity and social interactionServes as liaison between resident,
family, and team members regarding resident psycho-social needs and
changes.Ensures an accurate social history and profile for each
resident is created and maintained.Maintains an adequate inventory
of activity supplies and equipment and follows appropriate
community protocol for purchasing.Oversees the community
transportation program, ensuring all team members who operate a
vehicle maintain complete compliance with all regulatory
requirements.Establishes community transportation systems including
a weekly community transportation schedule and process for
requesting transportation services and confirmation of
requests.Responsible for coordination and scheduling of resident
transportation program; drives community vehicle as
necessaryOversees the transportation program ensuring all team
members who operate a vehicle maintain complete compliance with all
regulatory requirements.Responsible for vehicle safety Partner with
Maintenance to ensure all annual vehicle inspections and safety
checks are completed to ensure the vehicles meet operational
standards.Responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling an
adequate number of volunteers to support the community activity
program.Supports the team in ensuring that all resident care and
activity is provided in a safe and effective manner, while
consistently maintaining resident dignity, choice, and
respectEnsures the preparation, set-up, implementation and clean-up
of Community events and programs.Ensures the activity area ensuring
supplies are maintained in a neat and orderly manner.Maintains
knowledge of current OSHA and state regulations, and routinely
monitors facility compliance with the regulations related to
resident care and social interaction.OtherAttends all required team
member meetings and in-service training sessions.Upholds Residents
Rights as defined by state regulations and by Company policy, at
all times.Supports and upholds all other Company policies, and the
