(CSUSM) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the
level of Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering. Candidates
must be committed to contributing to an undergraduate-centered,
pedagogically innovative, and modern Computer Engineering degree
program. Applications from contemporary areas of research are
welcome, including robotics, cyber-physical systems, embedded
systems and edge computing, computer architecture and
high-performance computing, quantum computing, VLSI design,
hardware–software co-design, cloud and distributed systems,
hardware security, machine learning hardware, and bio-inspired
computing. Electrical and Computer Engineering is among the fastest
growing departments at CSUSM, with state-of-the-art modern
laboratories, ABET accreditation, and close relations with local
industry. California State University San Marcos offers a

campus is located on a scenic hillside 15 miles east of the Pacific

University recently broke ground on a new 75,000sf Integrated
Science and Engineering building. It includes modern Engineering
laboratories and is expected to open in 2027. Our campus embraces

Minimum Qualifications Possess a B.S . in Computer Engineering and
have received a Ph.D. in Computer or Electrical Engineering or a
closely related field by the time of appointment . Applicants with
ABD status will be considered, but the applicant must possess a
doctoral degree by the starting date. Candidates must demonstrate a
commitment to teaching excellence, a record of published research
commensurate with years of experience, and the ability to develop
and sustain a research program that will lead to original,
peer-reviewed publications. Candidates must be able to communicate
effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues.

Diego North County region. Preferred Qualifications Earned Ph.D. in
Computer Engineering. Demonstrated commitment to teaching with
research-based and instructional practices such as project-based
learning or community service learning, and student support that
fosters achievement among students with varied educational pathways
and experiences in STEM. Interest in and/or experience with course
development, laboratory development, program assessment, ABET
accreditation. Experience/potential building industry partnerships;
active participation in professional societies such as the IEEE,
the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, etc. Preference
will be given to applicants who can demonstrate success engaging
with varied student populations in teaching, research, and/or
service. In addition, preference will be given to applicants whose
expertise will expand the education and research opportunities the
program currently offers for students and be complementary to the
areas of specialization of existing faculty in the department and

professional references. Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $9,583 -
$10,420 per month CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,221- $13,224
